Boston University Online Program Part-Time Tuition Rates

The academic calendar for online students at BU is as follows:

  • Fall semester (September through December, comprising both Fall 1 and Fall 2 online sessions),
  • Spring semester (January through May, comprising both Spring 1 and Spring 2 online sessions),
  • Summer semester (May through August, comprising Summer 1 and Summer 2 online sessions).

Online students who study on a part-time basis each semester or during Summer Term (graduate: 1-11.5 credits) are charged the University’s online per-credit tuition and fee charges as noted. Online students who exceed these per-semester credit limits will be charged the University’s full-time tuition rates.

Other costs, such as for textbooks, are not included in the tuition and fees listed here. Please note the $60 student services fee is non-refundable, and a technology fee is assessed for most online courses at Boston University. It is used to help support the technology associated with the online course environment.Tuition and fees are subject to change annually and by action of the Boston University Board of Trustees.

Technology Fee Total technology fees based on ten 4-credit courses $60 per credit hour 10 x 4 x $60 = $2,400
